Sometimes it’s hard to find the perfect shoe, sometimes you just hit the jackpot right on! I love it when I immediately fall in love. These heels are the perfect example of hitting the jackpot.
Last year (SS12) my friend needed a new dress for a party, so we went shopping. One of the best places to score an awesome dress is Supertrash. Lovely crew, neat store and fabulous clothes. For those who don’t know: Supertrash is owned by business fashionista Olcay Gulsen. The story goes that Olcay bought Supertrash from It-girl Ava Riley. But there are doubts too… (Dutchies: click) because Ava Riley is nowhere to be found online. So I leave that an open question! The bottom line, Supertrash has amazing clothes and fabulous heels! I am a bit of a statistic-junk. Everyday before I go to sleep I look at the statistics of my blog. Just to see how many people visited my blog, what they were searching for and where they are from. From the day I posted this blog about Lola Shoetique, people end up on my blog because they were searching for a store like Lola Shoetique. Of course I started digging for you!
Online shoe-stores are great. You can find anything you’d like with a little bit of effort. You can get newsletters from your favorite store and online you can search by category or feature. Shoedazzle found a different approach.
Shoedazzle is founded in 2009 by Brian S. Lee and his wife. They hired our beauty princess Kim Kardashian as it’s chief fashion stylist. Nowadays Rachel Zoe is the chief fashion stylist. When you create an account, you get personalized shoes in your ‘showroom’.
Let’s take a look!
When you first enter the website, you have to take a quick fashion quiz.
The 30th of April is for every country in the world a regular day. Except for the Netherlands. The night before we all get drunk and the next day we either sell our entire household with a huge hangover on the flee market or we buy somebody elses entire household also with a huge hangover. Ow and eat churros! Like during the World Cup we all dress up red/white/blue or completely orange. Like maniacs. We must love our Queen a lot, don’t we!
No, I’m not kidding, everybody in Holland will wear something orange and we all act like true royalists. We love our Queen and we love to celebrate that with a lot of beer and crazy orange outfits.
One of my favorite brands is definitely Blink. The quality is good and the prizes are reasonble! I think I own about 5 pair of Blink heels. I even won a pair the other day! The new collection is even more fabulous than the one last year. Take a look with me.
Being on a Shoe No Buy is one of the hardest things I have to do. But it also made me take a good look at my current collection. I already gave you a sneak peak earlier. But this is the first blogpost where I tell you the details about my favorite pieces.
I remember the day like it was yesterday. It was the autumn 2009. I’ve been driving by the ad for weeks. I looked at the collection online and I already got my eye one two amazing pairs. Every girl in Holland, who loves Carrie Bradshaw, got excited and wanted to be the first to own a pair. I’m talking about the great Jmmy Choo for H&M collection. Both Jimmy Choo and H&M really nailed this. You can still buy these heels on Marktplaats (Dutch Ebay).
Today I walked by a shoe store in my hometown and something caught my attention. Something awesome that I’ve never seen before or even knew existed for that matter. It was the piece of a puzzle I’ve been missing. And there it was, right in front of my eyes, so easy but amazingly clever. Clear, see-through and simple, right what I needed! For a second I couldn’t breath, did I finally found it? The best way to store my shoes? Maybe, but this was definitely a great option! “Hello there, see-through shoebox! My name is Menina, do you want to come live with me? “
Imagine a room full of clear see-through shoe boxes carefully piled on each other giving the illusion of pretty shoes floating in the air without any dust collecting on them. I can’t wait to own a room like that! Continue reading →
